The refrigerator uses door cooling that uses vents on the door of the fridge and freezer to let cold air into. It helps prevent hot spots and maintains the temperature of the refrigerator.

This LG refrigerator was a standout during our tests. It provides ample space to feed a family, but we found a few annoying quirks. First, the freezer drawers don't remain as cold as we would like. The middle drawer reached 41 degrees during our highest testing which is hot enough for ice cream and other frozen food items. The temperature of the rest of the freezer was at around 36 degrees.

Another issue is that the refrigerator doors have sunken handles on the inside and underneath, which make it hard for shorter people to comfortably guide them closed. This may seem insignificant however, we prefer front mounted handles on refrigerators to make them more convenient to open and close.

This refrigerator is expensive, but it's worth the investment for anyone who wants an ultra-modern appearance in their kitchen. This refrigerator is ideal for those looking to upgrade their refrigerator or for those who are building new homes and want to have a seamless look in the kitchen.

Samsung's newest counter-depth French-door fridge model, the RF23M8090SG is priced at $4200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also performed well in our cooling tests, though we're not a fan of its gimmicky polygon handles and the bins that are crisper appear a bit fragile.

Bespoke is a feature that makes the RF23M8090SG stand out. It lets you personalize your refrigerator with removable colored panels. There are 11 color options including soft pastels, bolder hues and four metallic finishes. You can even alter the color of the fridge's LED lighting, which is nice. The interior of the refrigerator has a smart finish which reduces the appearance of smudges and makes cleaning simpler. The only flaws that really bother the RF23M8090SG is its crowded beverage center, as well as a little learning curve to open the door-indoor feature which houses a water dispenser and the pitcher. Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator

French door refrigerators add an elegant appearance to any kitchen and they fit well in different sizes of rooms. If you're looking to enjoy the convenience of this style without the height, a counter-depth fridge is the way to go. We've tested many of them, and this particular Frigidaire model has earned an above-average score in our ratings for its low cost and thoughtful features, such as an adjustable temperature drawer.

However, it has a few minor issues. Our tests show that the FGHB2866PF warms up quite a bit in the freezer, and can get uncomfortably warm in the fridge's interior shelves. Our heat maps show how the temperature changes minute by minute. The orange region in the upper right corner, which is the butter bin, has been particularly warm for most of our testing period. That might not seem so bad at first glance however, it means that the fridge is spending a large portion of its time above 33 degrees.

It's also worth noting that the FGHB2866PF isn't an Energy Star-certified model. This could be a factor for some buyers. The issue is that it's not a top-quality refrigerator, and the absence of modern features and a sturdy construction make it difficult to recommend it over better models in this price range.

In many ways, this Frigidaire looks and feels like the stainless steel version of a fridge that you might see at your local appliance store. It's a great choice, with a brushed-finish that looks attractive and is resistant to smudges. However it's not able to differentiate itself from rivals which are more feature-rich and less expensive.

If you're looking for a low-cost counter-depth French door refrigerator and don't have the budget to splurge on our best choices and the FGHC2331PF is worth considering. It has enough storage space for most families, and it is able to keep food fresh. And even if it isn't an energy-efficient model, it won't even come close to costing as much as our highest-rated models do.
